Slido alternative

A Slido alternative with no cap on who joins

Slido is a good product. If your event is a talk, a panel or a town hall and the point is the audience's questions, it was built for exactly that. People looking for an alternative usually run into one of two things: the plan that fits is priced by how many people join, or they want the room to play, not only to ask.

Here is what Slido's free plan allows, what it costs past that, read off its own pricing page on 22 October 2026, and where we fit.

First, check whether you need to pay anyone

Slido's free plan takes up to 100 participants, with basic audience Q&A, three polls and one quiz per slido. If your event is under 100 people and questions from the audience are what you need, it is enough and you should use it.

Count before you rely on it, though. The limit is on everyone who joins over the course of the event, not on how many are connected at once, and Slido counts devices rather than people.

Read off slido.com/pricing on 22 October 2026, excluding VAT, as shown to a visitor in Europe. Slido showed us euros; where you are, the currency and the numbers may differ.

Slido does not take monthly payments. A one-time plan covers one slido for an event of up to seven days, and testing and rehearsals before it do not count. Annual plans do not renew on their own.

The shape of the bill

Slido prices by headcount. Each step up buys a bigger cap, 200 people, then 1,000, then 5,000, counted over the whole event, so you size the plan to the biggest crowd you expect. If you expect around 200 people, you are choosing between the €60 plan and the €240 one.

Ours does not count heads at all. $39 buys 72 hours of live time, counted from your first live session and not from when you buy it, with any number of sessions inside that window and no cap on players. $299 buys a year of unlimited events with five team seats. Neither renews on its own.

What you get here

Q&A in every plan

Q&A is one of our five modes, and it comes with the Event Pass and the Annual plan alike. People send questions from their phones, with their nickname or anonymously, and vote up the ones they want answered. You see every question in the host panel, sorted by votes or by time, and pick which one goes on the big screen; nothing reaches the screen until you do. Mark a question answered, or hide it and it disappears from every phone.

Rude words are stopped before anyone sees them. Each person can send one question every 20 seconds and ten in a session, so nobody floods the list. When the session ends, every question with its votes goes into the CSV.

Measured, not claimed

We ran a Q&A room with 500 people against the live product: 100 questions and 5,435 votes, every phone in step with the host panel vote for vote, and the full archive written in about a second. We have not measured a bigger Q&A room, so we do not promise one. A quiz we have measured with 1,000 simultaneous players through 20 questions, with no dropped answers.

A quiz that is the whole show

Slido has quizzes too. Ours is built to be the main act: points, streaks and a leaderboard, on the big screen or only in your host panel, with rounds and standings between them. Questions can carry a picture, ask players to type the answer, or ask for the closest number. AI writes ten questions on a topic you pick in seconds, and every word stays editable.

Three more modes come with every plan: Survivor, where a wrong answer costs a life; Survey, anonymous live polls with no right answers; and Lucky draw, which spins the nicknames in the room and stops on a winner.

What players do

Open the site, type a PIN and a nickname, and they are in. No app to install, no account to create, and a nickname is all we ask for by default.

Bringing your questions over

If your quiz questions live in a spreadsheet, the editor imports them from our Excel template, one question per row. There is no direct import from Slido.

Where Slido is the better choice

You will find this out anyway, so here it is up front.

  • You want to approve questions before the room sees them. Slido's Professional plan includes moderation of questions. Ours stops rude words and then puts the question on everyone's phone straight away. You can hide it after that, but there is no approval queue.
  • You run it from PowerPoint, Google Slides, Zoom or Teams. Slido lists integrations with all four. We have none; our big screen is a web page you open in a browser.
  • You want word clouds, open text, rating or ranking polls. Slido has all of them. We have none of them.
  • The audience runs into the thousands and Q&A is the main act. Slido publishes plans for up to 5,000 participants, and up to 20,000 for large organizations. We have measured 500 people in a Q&A room and 1,000 in a quiz, and we only promise what we have measured.
  • Your event is under 100 people and needs only Q&A and a few polls. Slido's free plan covers it. We have no free plan, only a 24-hour trial.
  • Your company needs single sign-on. Slido's Premium and Enterprise plans have it. We do not.

If you want to try it

The prices are in the pricing section and you can buy in one click. If you would rather see it work first, start a free trial: 24 hours from your first live session, up to 10 players per game, all five modes, no card.
