Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of EventQuiz, the live quiz platform available at eventquiz.app and host.eventquiz.app ("EventQuiz", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

EventQuiz lets hosts create and run live quizzes that participants join from their own devices using a game PIN. Access is provided through host accounts: purchased, started as a free trial, or opened by us for pilots.

2. Accounts and access

• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for activity under your account.
• An Event Pass gives you 72 hours of live time, counted from the moment you start your first live session, not from purchase. You can run as many sessions as you like inside that window. When it expires, your quizzes and results remain in your account; only starting new live sessions requires a new pass.
• An Annual plan allows unlimited events for one year for the included team seats.
• A free trial gives you 24 hours of live time, counted from the moment you start your first live session, with up to 10 players in each game and a limited number of AI-written quizzes. One trial per email address. When it ends, your quizzes remain in your account; running them again requires an Event Pass or an Annual plan. We may close trial accounts that are opened repeatedly to get around these limits.
• Pilot accounts, and trials we set up by hand, are opened at our discretion and may be time-limited or closed after the agreed period.

3. Purchases and billing

Purchases are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle handles payment, applicable taxes and invoicing, and their buyer terms apply to the transaction. Refunds are described in our Refund Policy.

4. Your content

Quizzes, questions and other content you create remain yours. You grant us only the technical licence needed to store and display that content to run the service. You are responsible for the content of your quizzes and for having the right to use it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use EventQuiz to distribute unlawful, infringing or harmful content, to harass others, to attempt to disrupt the service or other customers, or to probe or breach its security. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.

6. Participants' data

For the events you run, you act as the data controller of participant information you choose to collect and we process it on your behalf. By default participants join with a nickname only. If you enable additional fields (such as names or company), you are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect them. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Availability

We work hard to keep EventQuiz reliable and publish our own load measurements, but the service is provided "as is" and we cannot promise uninterrupted availability. Planned maintenance is scheduled outside typical event hours where possible.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including the outcome of events you run.

9. Termination

You can stop using EventQuiz at any time and request deletion of your account by writing to support@eventquiz.app. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms, with notice where reasonable.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new date, and continued use after the change means acceptance.

11. Contact and governing law
